Between The Wood and Sea is the work of Lorraine Miller - ceramics, wire work, art and sculptures from found objects - all handmade in East Lothian. Working from a small studio in the garden of her 200 year old home in the East Lothian countryside, allows Lorraine to be close to her sources of inspiration – wildlife and nature.
Alongside a successful career in the Financial Sector, Lorraine found time to study at Leith School of Art on a part time basis and in 2014, she left to fully concentrate on art and set up her studio. She also became a Trustee for an Arts & Crafts Charity in East Lothian.
Although drawing and painting are part of Lorraine’s daily life, in recent years she has increasingly worked with clay and wire to produce sculpture, enjoying the challenges of working between 2D & 3D.
As well as selling original drawings her artwork is used to produce a small range of items for the home such as cards, bone china mugs, cushion covers, aprons and tea towels. Commissions for pet portraits are also taken.
