The Scottish Design Exchange is a unique concept store and not-for-profit creative community, bringing artists and designers together to share a new retail space in Edinburgh that benefits the both makers and customers.
The Scottish Design Exchange is here to help emerging creatives build up their brands by providing a wealth of experience in retail, design and manufacturing options in 2015 and throughout 2016.
We offer local designers and brands a commission free concession in our store, and our members get 100% of sales as we are a not for profit business, but we request a small monthly rent payment to uphold our large retail space and pay our full time staff.
The footfall and online retail reach of the store are large and beneficial to smaller designers who wish to increase their customer base.
As well as continuing to fill the shop, and having a fashion launch in February 2016, we are also planning a local publishing project to make a series of books written and designed in the nearby community, and we plan to host Edinburgh's second ever cryptoparty in June.
We also have music projects in the pipes and have already hosted music events through the shop.
